About Me
About Me
Hey! I’m Lauren, the face, hands and slightly chaotic creative brain behind Harklin Creations.
I’m a wife to Dan and mum to Harriet & Franklin… Har-klin… see what I did there?!
I’ve always been creative and, if I’m honest, a little bit jewellery obsessed. I started playing with polymer clay as a child, spending hours making tiny animals and trinkets, and over the years I’ve tried my hand at everything from cake making and jewellery making to crochet and knitting (the latter two with very questionable success!).
In May 2021, I finally took the plunge and started Harklin Creations. Lockdown, along with my incredible mum being diagnosed with breast cancer, gave me a huge reminder that life really is too short to keep wondering what if?
What started with me making lightweight polymer clay earrings has grown into something I could never have imagined.
Today, Harklin Creations is home to my handmade jewellery — including my much-loved Agatha earrings — alongside carefully chosen jewellery, accessories and Harklin Picks that I genuinely love and think you will too.
I don’t believe you need to stick to one particular style. Some days call for a big pair of statement earrings, some call for something simple and sparkly, and sometimes you just find something fabulous that you didn’t know you needed until you saw it!
That’s really what Harklin is all about: fun, individual pieces that make you feel good when you put them on.
Inclusivity has always been incredibly important to me too. I know how frustrating it can be to love a pair of earrings but not be able to wear them, which is why many of my handmade designs are available with different findings, including options for sensitive ears and non-pierced ears.
And despite how much Harklin has grown and changed since 2021, it’s still a very small business. There isn’t a big team behind the scenes — it’s me designing, making, choosing stock, packing your orders, chatting to you on socials and probably talking far too much on a live!
My mum is still a huge part of the Harklin story too. She supported me from day one, came along to countless markets with me and you’ll still spot her making an appearance from time to time — particularly on my live shows!
The community that has grown around Harklin is without doubt one of my favourite parts of what I do. Seeing you come back, collecting different designs, joining me live, recommending Harklin to friends and choosing something I’ve made or selected to wear yourself genuinely never gets old.
So whether you’ve been here since the early polymer-clay days or you’ve only just discovered Harklin — thank you.
Every order, comment, share and bit of support means more to this little business than you probably realise.
I hope you find something here that makes you feel fabulous.
Lauren x
